Mission Malawi 2 - March 2006
Our second band of happy trekkers was our biggest group ever, with 33 fundraisers seeking adventure along the African highways, including a few repeat visitors. The team of 2006 raised nearly £140,000 between them.

Dan ClelandA 33 year old Producer working in Advertising, Dan lives in London and has taken part in two Mission Malawi treks, 2 & 3 and is signed up for MM4 as well. I fell in love with Malawi when I first visited in 2006 and Mission Malawi has been a big part of my life ever since, I’m continually bowled over by the amazing and inspirational people we meet over there, that are working so hard to lift themselves out of poverty and fight HIV. Every penny we raise goes so far in Africa, so please dig deep. |

Les PrattMy name's Les Pratt and I'm a producer for BBC Radio 3, based in Manchester. I set up Mission Malawi back in 2003, and I can hardly believe we're preparing for our 3rd expedition already! More than 40 people have taken part in the 2 expeditions so far, and we've raised a staggering £175,000 along the way - money which is being well-spent in ActionAid's HIV projects, specifically in Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. In May 2008, we'll be cycling over 400km and walking through one of Malawi's national parks, visiting orphanages and care centres en route. Please dig deep and donate anything you can afford. This money will help the many hundreds of thousands of people in Africa who are struggling to cope with the day to day effects of HIV/AIDS. Thank you so much. |
